‘No need to Nullify’ examines the human condition through our ability or tendency to render human thought ineffective or useless. Apathy against the pixels of horror on the telly box, movements towards peace, and the drudgery of the 9 to 5 leave us with very little time to analyse. Slaves to the queens face.

Some starve, whilst others eat themselves to death. Another unjustified blast rings out, as long as I've got enough money in the bank its all OK

I painted Jimi Hendrix because I could! I also love his music!

"You can ignore the galleries that are scared of your stuff, their reaction is understandable. They are selling pictures that are supposed to fade away behind the beige sofa into oblivion, and match the wall color. They select art to help buyers disguise the anguish they feel, the longing, the emptiness, not to reveal it and display it." -Eric Seligson

"Chocolate is my sex!...... The only problem is you enjoy yourself to death" anonymous food addict.

It would appear that in modern times consumerism is often an individuals display of desire.   Whilst some of us are addicted to eating, shopping, sex, drugs, addiction exists to some degree in each and every one of us and it is this spectrum of addiction that has a huge impact on the health of the planet, on the quality of our own lives and will dictate the nature of day to day life for future generations.

MORE MORE MORE, mixed media on paper, 2012

Whether your addiction is sex, fast cars, fast food, nice clothes or your internet connection, all of our little addictions add up to a greater whole. The fact is to continue living as we are into the future we will need numerous planet Earths to maintain all of our addictions.

Extract from Benjamin Newell's:

I’ve seen things you people wouldn't believe - Exploring the work of Scott Donohue

His paintings and drawings are convoluted, indulgent and prosaic.  The first drawing I stared at was Consciousness (2010).  I didn’t look. I gawped. Grasping the monitor in my hands.  I was curious as to where this image was conceived from. The drawing portrays a robot type figure reminiscent of the work of Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher.  Here this robot-like-figure spews a cacophony of odd shapes, arrows, eye balls and what looks like Aztec gold from mechanically controlled tentacles attached to its brain.  Its as if this drawing is looking for a way out while you’re looking for a way in.  I bit my tongue and it bled for a bit. I can only compare it to a pleasant frustration.  Like attempting to complete The Times crossword. His paintings are the more pleasantly grotesque and colorful of his work.  Like a rainbow taken apart by a bazooka.
